In May, I spent the most luxurious spa-hopping week in Phoenix/Scottsdale, and as such, I have a ton of suggs to share on how to do it up like a Diva next time you’re in this splendid metropolitan area. Voila, my DiVacation do’s and don’ts …
DO get to the airport in style
If you’re going to travel in high style, may as well kick it off in luxe fashion. I was treated to a complimentary ride on Blacklane, a new limo service that’s just rolling out to Dallas, and chickadees, you simply must check out, too. The web-based service is easy to set up and arrange a ride with. And nothing beats arriving to DFW lookin’ like a boss!
Do stay in Phoenix/Scottsdale’s finest hotels
I had the pleasure to be invited to stay at The Phoenician’s Canyon Suites and the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa, both exquisite spots to feel like a Diva.
The Canyon Suites are a luxe addition to the already quite swank Phoenician resort, which includes golf course and spa. My suite was an embarrassment of riches, my chickadees. (I knew when my valet pointed out my half bath that I was in for a treat.) A desk with fax and printer, a living room, a dining room, gigantic patio and bedroom and huge ensuite bathroom starring this:
The Phoenician itself is simply gorgeous, surrounded by a huge golf course and breathtaking greenery. I mean, check out where my yoga walk ended my first morning there …
At the Westin Kierland, a stunning view of the golf course is one of the first things you see, beyond the expansive lobby.
What a spectacular place to stay and play! With plenty of activities to participate in, an onsite spa and gigantic pool areas, including a lazy river, waterslides and surfing pool, there is a ton to do at the Kierland. More on the phenomenal restaurant there later, but a stay at the Kierland is reflective of any stay at a Westin: overflowing with thoughtful luxury and premiere experiences. Prime example: One night, there a sweets vendor set up shop in the lobby, selling all manner of cakes and cookies. You could even buy one on your way out and have it delivered to your room while you’re gone!
Do hit the spas like a pro
Whilst in Arizona, I partook of some sensational spa treatments at five of the best spas in Phoenix/Scottsdale. From my head to my toes, each treatment gave this Diva LIFE, chickadees!
From the services at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa, imbued with Native American history, to the all-out splendor of Spa Avania at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale, I was shown that spa life is no joke in the sexy Sonoran Desert.
Along with the food, hotels and the dreamy landscapes of Arizona, my favorite experiences on this trip took place within the warm and welcoming five spas I was invited to luxuriate in. I wasn’t just immersed in hot tubs here, but in enveloping, creative, fragrant, cockles-warming treatments at some of the state’s most luxe spas.
Spa Avania at the Hyatt Regency, The Phoenician’s Centre for Well Being, Aji Spa at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass, Westin Kierland’s Agave Spa, and the Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess all excelled at serving up royal treatment! They are all worthy of being on your must-visit list when you travel to Phoenix/Scottsdale!
Don’t forget to eat – and drink! – well
The eatin’ was incredible at every step of my trip. Not only did I luxuriate in hotel room service at both the Phoenician and the Westin Kierland, but I got to savor tempting bites at exciting new hotspots like The Henry, a cool, bespoke gastropub concept from the folks behind True Food Kitchen …
… as well as elegantly classic fare at Ko’sin, the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass’ restaurant.
I also enjoyed an especially exceptional meal at the Kierland’s Latin American-flavored deseo.
With fine eats, resorts and spas to pop into, Phoenix/Scottsdale makes for a very fitting Diva destination.
