Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boyyyyy! I recently scored a Golden (media) Ticket of sorts that bestowed me entry into the spectacular, interactive (and edible!) art installations known as Candytopia!
The fanciful art project is showering delight upon several major cities in the U.S., and, lucky for us, Dallas is one of them.
Imagine, if you will, walking through some double doors and seeing a sprawling jungle motif featuring a komodo dragon and discovering it’s all made out of gummy bears and jelly beans. Amazing! And every other Candytopia exhibit is a rush of the senses: I felt like I traveled from the jungle to swimming under the sea and then dove into a marshmallow pit to make marshmallow angels.
Traipsing through each area is walking through a wonderland that I didn’t want to come out of. But I couldn’t dawdle, because there is so much to see! Of course, it’s Instagram-worthy and, happily, friendly assistants are there to help you take your best shot! My personal favorite installation was the spinner you could ride as confetti was blasted from the walls. By the time I was done, I looked like I’d photographed a trippy, surreal album cover!
[Disclosure: Candytopia provided The Dallas Diva with complimentary tickets. The opinions here are the writer’s own.]
Sound like a blast? Then gather up your friends, buy your tickets, make sure your cell phone battery is at 100% and skip over to Candytopia. It’s only here in Dallas until July and then, like a puff of cotton candy on the tongue, it’ll be gone!
