H&M (mini-)debuts in Dallas!

So I spent most of the morning at Northpark Center, shopping at the new H&M popup shop. Thankfully, there wasn’t much of a throng waiting to get in — certainly wasn’t crazy. I found almost all the sizes I needed, and the wait to check out wasn’t ridiculous. My biggest gripes are that the garment colors were limited to white, black, gray and red. Boo! I also need to lose about 40 pounds to get the most out of shopping there, but that’s a whole other episode of Oprah.

Anyway, I made off with two flutter-sleeve tees, two scarves, a pouf-shouldered sweater and a pack of colorful socks. That’ll tide me over until my next trip to an H&M city. The full, maxi store opens in Dallas next October. Check out my fashion snapshots!

Striped flutter-sleeve top. I'm going to pair that with jeans!

Items from the men's side of the store

What a romantic pairing -- great for a date!

I love the cut of this sweater. Too bad the store ran out of my size!!

ETA: Word has it this popup store’ll be open till Christmas, so if you didn’t check it out today, you still have time, chickadees!!

Austin stories

So my friend, Natural Curl Girl, and I went to Austin the weekend before Halloween. Needless to say, we had a blast (but then again, I think we could have a blast in Antarctica). Anyway, just wanted to share a roundup of pics from the excursion, including eats, street style and neat places to dance on 6th Street. The latter was kind of a first for me, as I’m used to just coolly bobbing my head to the bands rockin’ out on 6th during South by Southwest. But now I have fabulous new places to kick up my heels next time I’m there … which will be during South By Southwest 2011! I got a hotel room and errything, y’all — woot WOOT! OK, enjoy the photo gallery …
